When Connoisseurs of Time Got the True Taste of Japan

On Dec 6th 2021, the Edo Restaurant & Bar in ITC Gardenia (Bangalore) played host to an evening unlike any. It was where Grand Seiko’s GS9 Club, one of the most exclusive clubs dedicated to those in love with luxury watches, held its first-ever event in India.

The event brought forth the club’s esteemed members for a ‘True Taste of Japan’ through culture, cuisine and a first-hand experience of the latest timepieces from Grand Seiko. Also present at the event were the top brass of Seiko Watch India Pvt Ltd.

Latest releases such as the Spring Drive chronograph with gold highlights (SBGC240) and the hi-beat 200 m diver’s watches (SBGH289 and SBGH291) – from the Sport Collection, the Taisetsu 24 Sekki and White Birch watches – from the Heritage collection, and the re-creation of the first Grand Seiko from 1960 were showcased… much to the awe of all the members at the event.

An evening as such is never complete without amazing discussions, and there were plenty taking centre stage. Members got the chance to interact with Seiko Watch India Pvt Ltd’s apex corporates, dive deeper into the art of Japanese luxury watchmaking and understand everything that made the latest models unique.

One of the key facets of Japanese culture are the rich delicacies that captured many a food enthusiast’s imagination for decades. A specially-curated course of iconic Japanese delights such as Sushi, Tempura, Buta Kakuni and more were served for the members – who feasted away in style.

It was perhaps the perfect start to GS9 Club’s journey in India. One that left its members with profound memories, and set the tone for a lot more to take shape in the time to come.

A membership has its perks.
Occasionally, GS9 Club members receive exclusive and unique memorabilia, known as kinennhin 記念品 in Japanese. Please include your shipping address and shirt size to your profile to become eligible.
